Sheryl Northrop is the creative and guiding force behind NorthStar’s innovative approach to communications, PR and marketing. She is a 25-year veteran of the field, esteemed by clients and colleagues alike for her broad expertise, insightful counsel and willingness to consistently deliver above and beyond expectations.
She is a dedicated professional with a long history of success. At NorthStar, she chooses to represent select clients with interesting and distinctive projects, from diverse industries including entertainment, lifestyle, technology, security and non-profit.
Northrop is a thought leader who has shared her communications and PR savvy in numerous academic and professional forums. Currently, she is featured in a multi-part roundtable for the global magazine Security Buyer, in which she discusses communications and marketing best practices for the security industry. Speaking engagements and presentations include: Project ECHO (Entrepreneurial Concepts Hands On), a business academy that involves more than 500 students from diverse academic and socio-economic backgrounds, UCLA Extension, California State University, Northridge, Temple and Loyola Universities, SxSW and the UCLA Extension course Publicity for the Music Industry, which she co-taught for several years. In addition, Northrop has donated her time and professional acumen to non-profits including the T.J. Martell and Daniel Pearl Foundations.
Northrop holds a BA in journalism from California State University, Northridge and currently sits on the board of directors for Shred Kids’ Cancer, a student-run non-profit dedicated to raising awareness and funding for pediatric cancer research.
